The World Ayrshire Federation Conference, taking place from September 20 through October 8, is a nearly 3-week long conference that celebrates Ayrshires. It starts with the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, Massachusetts, then travels west, making stops along the way, and finally concludes in Madison, Wisconsin for World Dairy Expo, the world’s largest dairy cattle show.

Highlights of the conference include:

Friday, September 23

  • Traveling by coach to the state of New York where we will experience the history of one of America’s greatest traditions at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. The day will end with a tour at Sunny Acres and the evening meal with Doug and Kathy Evans and Family of Georgetown, NY.

Saturday, September 24

  • A visit to the oldest Amish settlement in America (Lancaster). S&M Ayr Farm, owned by Mike Zook and Family, will host the tour at their Amish Ayrshire Farm where you will learn more about their Amish lifestyle and see a fine herd of Ayrshires.

Monday, September 26

  • A stop at the world-renowned Sagamore Thoroughbred Farm in Maryland, followed by a visit to Palmyra Farm, where Ralph and Terri Shank and Mike and Mary Shank-Creek and their families will host the evening meal.

Wednesday, September 28

  • Continuing our journey west to the state of Indiana where we will visit one of the largest dairies in the U.S., Fair Oaks Farms. From there, we will visit the GEA corporate office. The finale of the day will be a tour of Family-Af-Ayr Farm, owned by Gregg and Pat Borchardt and Family, who will host an evening meal.

Wednesday, October 5 – Saturday, October 8

  • Attendees will have the opportunity to attend World Dairy Expo, the world’s largest dairy cattle show.
